I'm still disappointed in him not going to see his family and congratulating his sister's marriage, at least let them see you one more time before you completely cut them off from your life smh. I get not wanting to make it harder for them but he was just being selfish, can't always make decisions for others and they'd most likely want to see him.

Haha same thinking bro til now. this is good donghua but I admit I've watch the beginning dissappointed.. beginning is the heart of the story but it seems they don't focus and make a lot effort on it.

Why on earth he don't even approach his family

He doesn't want their thoughts to linger on him! After all he has already embarked on the path to transcend humanity and become immortal. He will be travelling across different realms and stay in seclusion cultivating for hundreds of years! Their sense of time and his are vastly different, if they think about him then it will weigh down their souls with sadness wondering where he is and if he will come see them again. It might seem cruel but he is being thoughtful of them.
